Amid of COVID-19 pandemic, Eid al-Adha 1441 Hijri will be celebrated in a different way this year.
Entrust the qurban slaughtering to the committee
Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency Head, Darjamuni stated sacrificial animals (qurban) slaughtering for this year's Eid al-Adha will be carried out by following health protocols.
"All this time, qurban animal slaughtering is only considering Islamic law (sharia) but this year it will be carried out by following health protocols and it must be obeyed by all, both the committee, people who provide qurban, as well as the mustahiq (recipients)," he explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Wednesday (7/29).
KPKP Personnel Check 210 Qurban Animals in KembanganBased on COVID-19 prevention protocols, the slaughtering process is only allowed to be attended by limited qurban committee members. His side recommends people who buy qurban animals this year for not coming to the slaughtering location.
"Avoid the crowd, both by the committee, people who give qurban, and mustahiq. Entrust the qurban slaughtering to the committee," he mentioned.
He reminds committee to be in a good health, often washing hands with soap and running water, and always wearing mask. They should also spray the area routinely after and before the slaughtering.
Qurban meat distribution shouldn't be done in a crowd. The committee needs to cooperate with local RT/RW administrators to send qurban meat to the mustahiq. People are also reminded to utilize digital technology to buy qurban animals because it can reduce the potential of COVID-19 transmission.
"With these efforts, we hope this year's Eid al-Adha to run well without reducing the blessings. Even in the midst of pandemic, everything is limited, but people's enthusiasm to share with others through qurban is hopefully not limited," he closed.
